I think I'll get rid of jQuery UI, and replace the calendar with this: http://www.kelvinluck.com/assets/jquery/datePicker/v2/demo/

I decided to use Datepicker by Keithwood: http://keith-wood.name/datepick.html
Mostly because it is more up to date than the other one, but also because the earlier one I posted didn't work.
