    I've done a bit more of investigating, and it appears that the upstream CSS files for jQuery UI have mixed CSS2 and CSS3. There isn't really anything we can do ...

    The mixed CSS2/CSS3 files are a bug. CSS3 by itself is not.

    We should also note that the CSS3 that we have on the site comes from upstream projects.
